Research Service AnalystCoordinate all activities related to the pre-award sponsored research process and will coordinate project submissions for faculty in the Department of Neurology. Provide support to the Finance Manager with and not limited to post-award processes such as assistance with account reconciliation (if and when needed), expense transfers, invoices, monthly reporting to principal investigators and processing e-forms. Create sponsored budgets, budget justifications, and other administrative data for submission to appropriate funding agencies. Monitor petty cash accounts. Report directly to the Finance Manager. Coordinate submission of grant proposals, for new and continuing projects and Just-In-Time submissions, using electronic (COEUS, PureEdge, Grants.gov etc.) and paper formats. Prepare and assist in the development of the budget and budget justifications. Use appropriate cost rates, such as indirect and benefit rates for proposed budgets. Review budget justification to ensure it relates to budgeted dollars. Confirm that anticipated promotions and other increases are calculated into the cost of project. Ensure compliance with all relevant university and/or agency regulations and restrictions. Complete JHU and sponsor forms as required. Track proposals and other sponsored research documentation through the signature/approval processes to ensure deadlines are met. Ensure compliance with University and/or agency regulations and restrictions (i.e., NIH regulation, JHU IRB compliance, ERS, other support, etc). Advise faculty and staff on changes in sponsored research policies. Help staff with any SAP issues regarding check requests, travel reimbursements and shopping cart submissions. Monitor petty cash accounts. Using SAP and Excel, prepare financial reports and results analysis for the principal investigators within the divisions. Assist in the development of budgets and budget projections. Meet with faculty and Finance Manager on a regular basis regarding the status of grants/accounts. May oversee or coordinate the work of others. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field. Three years progressively responsible experience in a related administrative/financial position, preferably in an academic or medical setting. Additional related experience may substitute for education. Additional graduate level education may substitute for experience. **JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis.
