      Financial AnalystThe Financial/Clinical Practice Analyst for the Department of Medicine is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clinical practice analysis of the outpatient clinics. Reports to the Assistant Administrator, Ambulatory Operations.  Primary duties and Responsibilities:  ? Provides financial, administrative and clinical practice analysis for the Department of Medicine outpatient clinics. Utilizes EPIC, MedVitals, Casemix, IDX, DataMart and CCUB systems. Provides monthly reports of outpatient clinic volumes and utilization of clinical space per practice and clinic location. Pulls Patient Satisfaction data from Press Ganey for monthly performance review. Prepares presentations of Dept of Medicine patient satisfaction results. Analyzes financial trends and clinic performance. Participates in periodic audits of outpatient practice activity. Communicates internally and externally regarding findings via presentations using Power Point and Excel.  ? Monitors Patient Access for the Department of Medicine Ambulatory Services. Tracks monthly call center performance using Avaya Automated Call Distribution (ACD) system. Compiles Date to Next Available Appointment (DTNAA) and Median Day to New Appointment data. Works with Assistant Administrators on template utilizations to maximize appointment availability and patient flow. Summarizes mystery shopping data and compiles into summary report. Develops Department of Medicine call centers performance reports. Compares Department?s performance against institution and industry standards. Makes recommendations on call centers performance improvements to achieve best practice standards.  ? Assists in fiscal year budgeting process for JHOC7 Adult Medicine Clinics. Projects visit volumes. Assesses scheduling volumes. Evaluates and projects expenses for scheduling and JHOC7 practices. Allocates space/session charges to divisions that practice in JHOC7. Analyzes All Funds for clinical practice and monitors budget to actual financial performance.  ?Prepares ad hoc reports and analysis of clinical activity (financial, utilization, productivity, staffing, billing etc.). Identifies key data elements to address questions integral to practice management. Produces requested reports in a timely manner while maintaining data accuracy. Completes a quality review of reports before distribution. Provides recommendations for clinical practice based on report findings. Conducts business analysis to support new clinical practice initiatives and business plans as needed.  ? Develops a set of clinical practice performance indicators including but not limited to: Productivity, capacity, and staffing. Profitability and cost management. Performance improvements. RVU analysis by clinical FTE. Patient satisfaction. Patient safety.  ? Develops a database for monthly outpatient dashboard reporting for surveillance of the various practices. Compares departmental activity to industry benchmarks for successful clinical practice performance. Makes recommendations for achieving best practice performance.  ? Assists with revenue cycle and billing compliance projects. Performs Hospital billing compliance analysis. Communicates result findings and makes recommendations, corrective actions and improvements. Performs periodic billing audits for DOM outpatient clinics. Ensures the current billing practice is accurate and compliant. Assists in the development of billing and compliance policies for DOM.  ? Attends and participates in various committees, meetings, and other forums as needed to stay informed of organizational initiatives that impact outpatient clinical practice. Represents the Department?s interests as needed.  ? Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field required. Three years progressively responsible related financial/accounting experience required. Additional experience may substitute for education. Additional graduate level education may substitute for experience.  Strong organizational skills, analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail. Knowledge and ability of accounting and budgeting practices. Systems knowledge to compile data from multiple sources. Ability to independently prioritize work with flexibility on performing tasks to meet concurrent deadlines.
