Network Engineer   Contract to hire opportunity for a Network Engineer in Philadelphia, PA.  Candidates must be available for permanent placement (US Citizen or GreenCard)  Network Engineer:  This senior level position will be responsible for the direct implementation, troubleshooting and management of a North-American LAN/WAN infrastructure.  Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic design, operation and maintenance of the IT connectivity environment. This position requires excellent technical skills and proven attention to detail, process, and discipline within a production environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:       * Provides comprehensive designs to address and compliment the company’s strategic routing and switching direction.         * Implements architectures based on best practices and in compliance with security and corporate guidelines.      * Develops plans, time/resource estimates, and cost benefit analyses for projected activities.      * Responds to issue escalation and service interruption as a confident technical leader (i.e. assumes technical leadership role in problem resolution and performs root cause analysis).      * Ensures that tasks are carried out properly and on a timely basis.      * Manages multiple priorities effectively and provides guidance and mentoring to peers.      * Prepares technical subject matter presentations for senior management.      * Maintains effective external relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers and leverages these relationships to ensure best fit solutions to the firm.      * Evaluates emerging technologies.       QUALIFICATIONS:        * Provides advanced trouble-shooting, implementation and configuration of network hardware and software.      * Analyzes functional problems and determines techniques/ requirements feasible for expedited solutions.      * Understands conceptually Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Virtual Routing and Forwarding Instances(VRFs).      * Maintains VoIP configuration and implementation experience utilizing Cisco Unified Communication Manager.      * Utilizes network management tools to monitor, evaluate, and report health statistics of the Wide and Local Area (WAN/LAN) Networks.      * Maintains extensive knowledge of IP communications, including packet analysis.       * Works as part of a team to determine project requirements, goals, implementation schedules, etc.      * Utilizes effective decision making processes to prioritize daily tasks and assignments.      * Composes and maintains network documentation, such as topology diagrams, circuit/equipment inventories and configuration reports.      * Performs network capacity planning and performance analyses to properly size network connections.       * Understands after-hours (evenings and weekends) work will be required, as needed.      * Communicates both clearly and concisely with technical peers and management.    Job Requirements        * Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS-based routers within the 7600, 3900, 3800, 2900 and 2800 families; Cisco IOS based switches within the 6500, 3750 and 3560 families; and Cisco ASA 55xx firewall appliances including IPS modules.      * In-depth knowledge of layer 3 technologies, such as HSRP, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP.       * In-depth knowledge of layer 2 technologies, such as Rapid Spanning-Tree and various WAN mediums (i.e. PPP, HDLC, etc.)      * Cisco Unified Communication Manager configuration and infrastructure.      * Central Authentication, Authorization and Accounting via TACACS+.      * Logging aggregation and reporting via SNMP and SYSLOG.      * A thorough understanding of End-to-End Quality of Service (QoS) design and implementation.      * Ability to lead technology and product general assessments, detailed evaluations, and final selections.      * Ability to lead infrastructure performance diagnosis and scalability assessment activities.      * Experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles, and security practices.      * Excellent technical documentation skills      * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills    Required certifications/registrations:       * CCNP or equivalent years of experience.    Global Employment Solutions
