      Director of NorthropPosition Responsibilities and Functions: Design and implement the signature programming for the new Northrop - Provide visionary leadership to convene the University community and community partners to fulfill the vision of the new Northrop - Create the programming that optimizes Northrop's multiple venues and achieves the vision of the new Northrop - Enhance campus and community engagement with scholarly, cultural and civic programs and discourse - Implement and maintain the priorities that will govern the scheduled use of the facility to meet the diverse demands placed on the various event venues and building spaces. - Work closely with the programs housed in Northrop (University Honors Program, Concerts and lectures, and the Institute for Advanced Studies) and academic units throughout the University to ensure that Northrop meets their diverse programmatic needs. - Convene the Northrop Council composed of University, community and civic leaders to provide expertise, innovative ideas and support to achieve the vision of the new Northrop. Administrative leadership and oversight - Provide day to day leadership and administrative oversight of the operations of Northrop - Develop a building operations plan and staff using direct report employees and in partnership with University Services Facilities Management and Auxiliary Services. - Coordinate with all contracted vendors housed in Northrop as required for the program and event needs. - Represent and manage Northrop's relationship with the University administration, University academic and administrative units, key vendors and the public. Ensure financial sustainability and fiscal accountability - Develop a business plan that provides a sustainable financial foundation - Develop and manage an operating budget for Northrop and a comprehensive depreciation replacement account and budget - Identify potential capital investments on an ongoing basis - Track revenues and expenditures and model financial trends - With the University Foundation, create a development plan that ensures a stable financial foundation for Northrop  Required/Preferred Qualifications: Required/Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred in a leadership, management or appropriate field. - Five years of experience successfully managing a complex state-of-the art multipurpose facility. - Understanding the academic mission of the University of Minnesota and its role as the state of Minnesota's only research and land grant institution. - Successful creation of innovative multipurpose facility programming. - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of constituencies to meet diverse and at times competing needs and demands. - Demonstrated ability to serve as an entrepreneur on behalf of Northrop. - Experience in a University-based multi-purpose facility is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of event planning and implementation - Knowledge of building management and services - Ability to develop, implement and direct long-term financial plans - Success in raising funds from donors for a community or University based organization/program - Excellent customer service skills - Excellent oral and written communications skills - Ability to gather, analyze, organize, summarize and present detailed information - Leader who works collaboratively with members of the team - Ability to organize, direct and lead multiple aspects of an organization - Ability to multi-task and establish priorities and handle multiple projects concurrently - Knows what it takes to accomplish outstanding results and gives credit to those who contribute to success - Requisite technology and social networking experience and skills - Results orientation, always keeping the final goal in mind/focus  Job Type: Full Time      Contact:       University of Minnesota Twin Cities Minneapolis, MN  United States
