Incumbent will be responsible for pursuing an on-time and within budget delivery of major construction projects, while assuring the safe and unrestricted pursuit of the University's overall mission. Will review plans and specifications prepared by other State agencies or consultants and offer pertinent written comments; oversee the preparation of technical specifications, drawings and cost estimates; coordinate fieldwork in conjunction with the preparation of construction documents as well as the construction work. Prepare schedules using MS Project or other software. Serve as the main point of contact with customers from the beginning of a project design through construction completion and will be the key contact for outside consultants and the University stakeholders. Provide As-Built information to update and maintain inventory drawings, a Master Project List, and other architectural/engineering drawings as required. Assist others as needed regarding design and the interpretation of building codes. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management required. A minimum of 8 years experience in Construction Management or Construction/Architectural/MEP Project Administration is required. An additional 7 years additional experience as stated above may substitute for the degree. Experience in providing written reviews of technical specifications and construction drawings in preparation for bidding a construction project; reviewing contract budgets, change orders, project schedules, materials testing and all aspects of structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing submittals; dealing with customers and the ability to handle logistic issues due to construction related problems is required. Experience working with a team in the preparation of technical specifications and construction drawings is essential. Experience in the oversight of the entire design and construction process is necessary. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with computerized scheduling such as MS Project or another scheduling program is preferred. A New York Professional registration in Engineering or Architecture and AutoCAD experience is desired. Experience in a College or University setting is desired.
