To apply, please visit: www.ubjobs.buffalo.edu/applicants/Central?quickFind=54776 Position Summary: The Content Developer/Media Relations Specialist (CD/MRS) is a full-time staff position responsible for gathering, writing, editing, developing and strategically sharing accurate and timely news and event content about the University at Buffalo (UB), to external and internal audiences. The CD/MRS reports to the Director of Integrated Communications and works closely with University Communications colleagues to prepare written and digital content? including news releases, videos, slide shows, social media and Web communications? to deliver key messages to external and internal audiences. The Content Developer/Media Relations Specialist interacts regularly with university deans, administrators, faculty and students to research, gather, and develop written and digital content. The content created by this position must advance and support university goals and objectives, and enhance the UB brand. He/She will compose and aggregate written, graphic, pictorial, motion and audio content for UB websites, social media, print collateral and various digital projects. He/She will research, prepare, write and develop media releases, videos, slide shows, tip sheets, and other news content about research, programs, initiatives, faculty, staff and students in the University at Buffalo. The CD/MRS will build and cultivate good relationships with representatives of traditional media and social media, regionally and nationally, and respond to their requests for information. He/She will assist in developing media plans and news events for university initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: Three years of full-time experience as a professional communicator in higher-education, agency, corporate, non-profit or news media settings. Significant experience developing content for news and Web communications, researching stories, and interviewing subjects. Must have exceptional writing experience, demonstrated aptitude with Web technologies and analytics and excellent oral and written communication skills. Working strategically and independently, within a departmental setting is essential. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred major or concentration: Journalism, English, Communications, or Public Relations.
