Ethiopia Project Finance Officer Vacancy announcement  Position: Project Finance Officer  Duration: Open Ended, depending on funding  Duty Station: Addis Ababa  Salary: Negotiable     HelpAge International is a network of organizations working in over 75 countries to support older people to overcome poverty so they can lead dignified, secure, active and healthy lives. HAI has been active in the development and humanitarian sector in Ethiopia since 1992 and works closely with partners, communities and households by developing strong relationships at the grassroots level.  We are now looking for a Project finance officer to join our finance and admin team. The Finance Officer reports to and works closely with the Finance and Admin Manager to:  * Implement grant tracking/monitoring system, ensuring all relevant grants financial information of HAI-E is accessible on a timely basis for reporting.  * Ensure compliance of financial and procurement activities with donors and HAI’s policies and regulations.  * Expedite payments, summarize expenses, classify and code as per the budget line and make ready for financial report consolidation  * Follow up timely settlements of staff / business advances and ensure that all are current and cleared  * Assist the development of grant budgets and Grant cash flow preparation with program officers and partners  * Monitor actual grant expenditures against approved donor line items on a monthly basis; advise Program staff of any irregularities and make recommendations for future action  * Liaise with program staff and partners with regard to grant/budgetary issues and review monthly financial reports.  * Review partners financial documents, settle project expenses and process the reimbursement of the expenses  * Build the finance staff capacity by conducting grant and Sun system training.  * Train program and partner staff on general financial policy.  * Travel to partner offices to supervise and monitor the financial activities  * Ensure that Fixed Assets are properly tracked, regular inventory is conducted and the database is updated  * Timely preparation of National staff payroll and distribution of payments  * Review the internal control systems and how they have been practiced and recommend strengthening when-ever it is necessary.  The successful candidate should meet the following basic requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting  Minimum of 5 year experience in accounting after graduation  Competent usage of at least one commonly used accounting software package preferably Sun system and vision  Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively  Good presentation and briefing skills  Excellent technical and analytical skills  Demonstrated ability to work in multi-lingual and multi-cultural settings  Competence in the use of standard software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)  Interested applicants meeting the above requirements are invited to request an application form front HelpAge International at one of the following addresses:  The deadline for submissions is 28 August 2011.  Birtukan@helpageethiopia.org Or mdubisso@helpageethiopia.org  HelpAge International-Ethiopia, Kazanchis, near Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs  P.o.Box:  3384   Tel. 0115 150 647/0115 150 675  Addis Ababa.  E-mail: hai@ethionet.et with attention to: Alison Rusinow or e-mail arusinow@helpageethiopia.org For the best Latest Career Opportunities Vacancies And Employments
