Senior Internal Auditor Church of the Province of Uganda (Church of Uganda) is a member of the Anglican Communion. The Church of Uganda is seeking to recruit suitable persons on contract basis to fill the positions below: Title : Senior Internal Auditor Reports to : Audit Committee Functionally and Provincial Secretary Administratively Core duties: * Primary role is to carry out internal audit duties of the Provincial Office * Undertake a broad, comprehensive programme of internal audit in the entire COU and Its related programme activities * Regularly review, update and implement the Provincial Internal Audit, Risk Management and Whistle blower policies * Develop and review internal controls that help in fraud risk prevention and detection * Prepare Internal Audit function annual work plans and conduct annual internal audit activities * Perform regular examination, verification and audit of key control areas and recommend improvement. * Perform regular audits at CoU projects/programme sites to ensure up to-date financial records and that they are complying with approved management and accounting policies and procedures. * Carry-out investigations in frauds and misappropriation of resources whenever suspected * Carry-out value for money and performance audits in CoU Projects/Programmes * Carry-out operational and value for money audits to ascertain the effectiveness of established policies and plans and where necessary recommend improvements * Attend periodic casft and stock counts * Audit income and expenditure, assets and liabilities and commitments to ensure they are fairy stated in the financial statements and management reports * Advise on resource mobilization in COU and assist in building related capacities in the Province of the Church of Uganda Coordinate quarterly risk management committee meetings Liaise with and coordinate external audit engagements Requirement: * At least 5 years experience in internal auditing University graduate in Commerce/Accounting/Finance MBA and full professional qualifications in ACCA.CIA or CPA. is added advantage * Membership to the Institute of Internal Auditors Knowledge and experience of working with faith-based organizations * Committed and practicing Christian Competencies required: * Excellent audit and financial analysis skills Good knowledge of Internal Audit, principles and practices Excellent skills in Risk-based Auditing, Risk Management and Portfolio Management of Faith-based NGOs Assertiveness, high levels of integrity and decision making skills. * Ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Computer literacy. * Ability to work with minimal or no supervision committed to the values and faith of Church of Uganda Experience: 5 How to apply: Applications along with up-to-date curriculum vitae, copies of relevant academic testimonials, a letter from your local Church (and/or Diocesan Bishop In cases of Clergy), names t contacts of three referees and a day time contact (including current employer) should be submitted to the address below not later than April 29th 2013.
