Division of Allergy and Immunology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow. The Risma laboratory is focused on elucidating the mechanisms by which natural killer and cytotoxic T lymphocytes eliminate target cells. Two projects are available: 1st: identification of genetic modifiers of cytotoxic lymphocyte killing and 2nd: testing the capacity for gene therapy to reverse the cytotoxic defect in patients with perforin deficiency (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis). Techniques will include animal and cell culture models, lentiviral and retroviral transduction, molecular subcloning, and immunoassays (Western blot, flow cytometry, ELISA).
