Regional Demand Creation and Community Mobilization Coordinator Pathfinder International/Ethiopia (PI/E) is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to provide high quality reproductive health and family planning services that improve the lives of women and their families in Ethiopia. With the generous support of USAID, for its Community PMCT project with lntraHealth Ethiopia, Pathfinder Ethiopia would like to recruit qualified and passionate professional for Regional Demand Creation and Community Mobilization Coordinator position for the Oromia lntraHealth Office. JOB SUMMARY: The Regional DDCM Officer is responsible for planning and implementation of the demand creation and community mobilization activities of the PMTCT project in the Region. S/he provides technical assistance in material preparation to support demand generation, referrals and non-clinical PMTCT services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assists the Advisor in the development of regional annual plans and budgets that will lead to appropriate implementation of Demand Creation and Community Mobilization activities and attainment of corresponding results that the organization is responsible for. • Coordinates all relations with regional, zonal and woreda Health and Administrative authorities’ Regional Health Bureau, and relevant regional organizations to ensure that plans of DCCM activities in the region are well understood and supported by all concerned. • Participates in BCC material preparation and conducts trainings • Conducts supportive and follow up supervisions at woreda and kebele level in the project implementation areas. • Coordinates Training and community mobilization activities to create demand for PMTCT services • Travels to the project woredas and kebeles in the region of assignment in regular periodicity to provide support. • Provides periodic activity reports on the operations in the region, and is also responsible to organize visits for all teams that the Country Office will request. • Attends- relevant government and partner’s meetings to further develop collaboration and to obtain new and improved demand creation and community mobilization approaches, methods and ideas in the area of responsibility. • Carries out all other duties as required by his/her supervisor. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1st degree or above in social science, nursing, or public health with minimum of five years experience in Community Mobilization activities and/or Behavior Change Communication. Experience in coordinating HIV/AIDS program or PMTCT activities are important. Strong writing and communication skills in Amharic and English and knowledge and skills of Oromiffa are a must. Mastery of computer skills in Word processing and Excel is mandatory. Ability to work with minimum supervision, skills to promote teamwork and effort is essential.
