Boston University     Postdoctoral Research Associate - for an NIH diversity supplement  NIH-funded laboratory at Boston University School of Medicine is looking for a motivated minority Ph.D. to study the molecular mechanism of the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. In particular, the role of the serine-threonine kinase CK2 in the control of the activation of beta-catenin and dishevelled. The project involves biochemical, molecular and cellular analyses in diverse model systems including mouse embryos, Xenopus embryos and cell lines.  The candidate will be funded from a diversity supplement based on my current NIH grant. For this supplement, candidates should belong to one of the minority groups described below. Candidates should also be US citizens or non-citizen nationals of the United States or permanent residents in the United States. While this funding is limited to a US minority, applicants with their own funding will be also considered.  Proficiency in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology is essential. Experience with mouse and/or Xenopus model organisms is preferred.  Please, send your CV, including the names and contact information for three referees to M. Isabel Dominguez, Ph.D.; e-mail: isdoming@bu.edu; http://www.bumc.bu.edu/hematology/research-activities/m-isabel-dominguez-phd-2/    US minority definition: The following racial and ethnic groups have been shown by the National Science Foundation to be underrepresented in health-related sciences on a national basis: African Americans, Hispanic Americas, Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, Hawaiian Natives, and natives of the US Pacific Islands.
